Review
After only a few years of activity, a couple of EP’s and a debut album under their wing, Psykkle are still very much an emerging band. From the outset it may seem like it is too early to release a B-sides album, by making it mainly remixes however, Psykkle have stopped this from mattering. With only a handful of B-side tracks splattering the release, it is dominated by remixes of tracks from debut album “Rock Bottom Paradise”.

Now this is starting to sound like a release that a successful band would carelessly throw out when their bank accounts were starting to drop, yet with “Back To Paradise” this is far from the case. With every track being of a high standard it is more a collection of tracks that didn’t fit in elsewhere. B-sides that could otherwise have never been heard, with the remixes adding extra value for money.

The remixes despite only coming from a small quantity of artists cover a wide range of electronic genres, taking Psykkle’s already extensive sound to even greater levels. Whether it is the glitch and IDM influences of Lucidstatic or the Psytrance of Mangadrive that takes your fancy, “Back To Paradise” is sure to provide something for any electronic music fan.
