Siva Six joins Alfa Matrix label
siva.jpg

Alfa Matrix has announced last night that the Greek electro formation Siva Six joined the label. The label announces "a very strong, powerful, bombastic and orchestral new studio album" for 2011. The album, titled "The Twin Moons", will be the band's 3rd so far.

Siva Six started in 1997 as a trio under the name Wintermute. In 1998, they contributed - still under the name Wintermute - a cover version of "Pornography" to the compilation "A Tribute To The Cure". 2 demo cds would follow under the Wintermute name. After the band got reduced to a duo the name changed to Siva Six. Picked up by the Italian label Decadance Records in 2005, Siva Six released their debut "Rise New Flesh" followed by "Black Will" in November of 2006. The band is now preparing their 3rd release which will be released on Alfa Matrix ( www.alfa-matrix.com ).

Alfa Matrix presents: HALO IN REVERSE - "Trials and Tribulations" CD/2CD
The new Nine Inch Nails? We wouldn't go that far although various press people were at first confused when they received an anonymous download featuring "Trials and tribulations", the debut album of HALO IN REVERSE. Yes we were quite charmed by the very positive feedback from this anonymous test download. Sure thing is that this release reflects what we liked the most in Reznors best releases: vivid song structures, raw yet very controlled vocals and violent industrial guitars.

It would be too easy describing the one-man American band (aka Joshua Steffen) HALO IN REVERSE as a NIN clone because Joshua goes way further inserting his personal studio excellence and fighting his very own demons. This is the album that made us hesitate: do we face the easy and gratuitious remarks that HALO IN REVERSE is just a copy or do we push the band because of its intrinsique and excellent songwriting 'despite' the resemblance? We choose to go for the songwriting which is just exemplary!

HALO IN REVERSE not only shows perfect skillmanship but also true emotions transcending the cheap copy that you find all too much in the industrial scene. We defy you to uncover this jewel!

"Trials and Tribulations" comes as a CD and 2CD boxset with a bonus disc including 5 exclusive bonus songs, plus 11 alternative versions and remixes from other artists.

Alfa Matrix releases Razorfade's 'Liberation' EP as download on iTunes
Razorfade.jpg

The 6-track EP "Liberation" from Razorfade has finally made it to iTunes. Blending influences from the alternative 1980's new wave movement with current electro sounds, Razorfade is reinterpreting alternative electronic music for those with a darker side. Featuring ex-members of Suspiria and Ikon, Razorfade reveals a dark electronic sound approach whilst still incorporating atmospheric guitar and vocals reminiscent of the pair's previous projects. Expect sombre, catchy and danceable anthems that share similarities with bands like VNV Nation, Clan of Xymox or yet Assemblage 23.

Razorfade's Mark Tansley is best known as the creative brain behind legendary underground band Suspiria and the later side project Intravenus. Spending his time between the UK and Australia, Mark Tansley has paired up with vocalist Clifford Ennis to create Razorfade. Best known as the singer for successful 1990's Australian bands Subterfuge and Jerusalem Syndrome, Clifford Ennis is also the former guitarist for internationally acclaimed band Ikon. Between them, Mark Tansley and Clifford Ennis have toured extensively, having performed at some of Europe’s largest alternative music festivals, as well as playing at hundreds of venues across Europe, the USA and Australia.

Since forming in 2008, Razorfade have released the highly praised 6 track "Liberation" EP (check our review), and are currently mixing their forthcoming debut album, to be released on Alfa Matrix.
