Stripped - Londons Newest Gay Alternative Club
Stripped_poster_revised_bands.jpg

JH Music in association with Flag Promotions are delighted to bring you Stripped - Londons newest gay alternative club.

Bringing a breath of fresh air to London’s Gay scene, a club that plays the kind of music not available anywhere outside of straightsville. Stripped insists that some of us gays are not completely infatuated with the likes of Kylie, Madonna and Lady-bloody-GaGa!!

Stripped will be a monthly club night which will incorporate a cutting edge live act each month - as well as 3 resident Djs Frankie D, Jason H, and Jonthegoth. To say that these guys know their music is somewhat of an understatement!

With its launch night set to take place on Friday 8th April at Apothecary (next to Egg) in Kings Cross, you can expect to hear such artists as Combichrist, Crystal Castles, Depeche Mode, IAMX, Nine Inch Nails and many more.

Tits, guns and gasoline on Malakwa video 'Make up your rules'
Out now is the newest Malakwa album "Street preacher". To celebrate the release the band finished a smashing video for the track "Make up your rules", which you can see right here: http://www.dailymotion.com/video/xh713k_make-up-your-rules-malakwa_music (you can find an embed code right there). Be warned, it's NOT worksafe but it's a pleasure to watch for sure!

The video from our French electro punk terrorists was shot by Fabien Laubry with a team of no less of 15 people. The first scenes were shot in an abandoned garage in the middle of a forest where a gang houses led by Purple (Garage Babe). And it's also there where we find Benoit and Sylvain from Tamtrum displaying their best behavior. While Mat is being taken hostage, Flux is trying to rescue her. Expect exploding heads, intestines, hot babes (both Malakwa and Tamtrum have a good taste we must admit - check the Tamtrum beauties in the booklet of their last album "Fuck You I'm Drunk / Stronger Than Cats" for instance), etc.

"Street preacher" is available as a CD and 2CD via http://www.alfa-matrix.com and has also hit iTunes via http://useth.at/izhc4 .

Malakwa prepare new video and it won't be safe for work !

Malakwa are currently shooting their 2nd video clip "Make up your rules" and those who look closely at the pictures will recognize the Tamtrum gang adding an extra +18 touch to the whole. The band expects the video, shot by Fabien Laubry, to be ready for February 25 when the band is releasing its 2nd album "Street preacher" (available as a CD and 2CD).

The "Make up your rules" video is being shot with a team of no less of 15 people. The first scenes were shot in an abandoned garage in the middle of a forest where a gang houses led by Purple (Garage Babe). The inspiration for the video is taken from the gore pictures from the 80ies; add to that some Robert Rodriguez influences and you know what to expect. The video is shot in HD with a 5D (Canon). The band hopes to wrap up the whole by January 30th 2011.

For now, you can download the track "Monster" for free here

Free download from Halo In Reverse
halo-in-reverse.jpg

Available now as a free download is the Halo In Reverse track "Whittled To An Edge (Cold Painted Soul Mix)". The track is taken from the bonus disc of the limited 2CD edition of the Halo In Reverse album "Trials and tribulations".

The link to the download can be found here

Halo In Reverse is the one-man project from US-based musician Joshua Steffen. Although there are clear influences from Trent Reznor's earliest work, Steffen is definitely doing his own thing, combining emotional melodies with caustic synthesizer and guitar textures, mixing the organic with the synthetic.

mzl_bfagghxw_320x480-75.jpg

Available now via iTunes is the iPhone application from the electro / industrial magazine Side-Line. The application is free and brings daily news (of course!) but also fresh music and videos. And that's not all. Via the app Side-Line is also offering a social layer giving you the possibility to PM other users, create your own profile (synched with your Facebook, Twitter and/or Foursquare accounts), checkin on concerts, and much much more.

The app has been in closed testing for a few weeks before it now gets launched to the general public. Since its beta launch in mid-December, the app was installed by 1000 users already.

You can find the app right here.
Note that all features work only if you have installed iOS4 or higher, this because the app makes use of several new iPhone OS features. An Android app will expectedly be launched somewhere later this year. More news as we get it

Swedish Synthpop Band The Kick Give Away Album For Free
Anomalies_front.jpg

For the past months David Sundqvist has been hiding out in the studio working on new material to follow up The Kick's 2009 debut album 'Metal Heart'. A new single is planned for release later this winter, but in the meantime David decided to give away some previously unreleased material for free. So how did this come about?

"I had a couple of songs that didn't make it on to the first record, mainly because they didn't fit the mood of the album. When I started working on new material I felt that I wanted to take the music in a new direction. I pushed the song writing and instrumentation into different areas and some of the first things I came up with reminded me of those couple of songs that never got properly recorded or released."

So why isn't this the second album by The Kick?

"As the writing progressed I felt this wasn't the direction I wanted to take. At the same time the songs were to good to just throw away, so the label and I decided to release them for free. It's a good marker for where my creativity and inspiration was at for a certain period."

"There is a sort of eeriness to the songs. The sensation of walking through a public building in the middle of the night when it's completely empty. Maybe it's the fact that these songs were left off or created in between records. As in a glitch in time, lost in oblivion. If you were the last person on earth it would probably be the perfect soundtrack. I also like the fact that the recording was very quick. I just locked myself in the studio for a week and it was done."

The album can be downloaded here

MALAKWA signs to Alfa Matrix - free download available
malakwa.jpg

After Tamtrum and Krystal System, the Belgian label Alfa Matrix went fishing in the French electro punk rock pond again to discover a real hidden jewel: MALAKWA. Hailing from Marseille - South of France, is Malakwa. This combo (featuring a gorgeous female guitar player) fuses electro machine sounds with crossover assaults and distorted vocals which was quite well translated on their debut "Feed The Machine". The band is not exactly a new-bee having played well over 150, including gigs in China, Germany, Switzerland, etc.

The band has now joined the Alfa Matrix label where it will be the perfect fit for earlier signings such as Alien Vampires, and the before mentioned compatriots Tamtrum and Krystal System. The band's new full album "Streetpreacher", to be released next year, will hold a mix of elektro, industrial synths, noisy breakcore and provocative punk rock.

Alfa Matrix offers a free download from the track "Monster", taken from the band's upcoming album "Street preacher" for which the label is already accepting orders at http://www.alfa-matrix.com.

The album comes also as a carton box limited edition of "Street Preacher" and holds a bonus disc with 2 exclusive songs plus 9 remakes of "Monster" by KANT KINO, IMPLANT, AMGOD, PSY'AVIAH, AMBASSADOR 21, ESSENCE OF MIND, etc.

A free high quality download is now available here
